Our mission is to create a world where people successfully start, build, manage and grow their small business in a way that leads to a meaningful and prosperous life for themselves and their families, their team members and their community.
Sixty:forty is a platform designed to connect people and businesses in order to get things done. What things? No matter what you need, we’ll have a way to help. You can think of us as a single point resource and your concierge of small business. Our ambition is to provide small business owners with training, community and opportunity … all delivered through our platform.
Ideas are easy but execution is everything. We know that small business owners often don’t have the knowledge, time, money or access to resources to get things done and this is where we are here to help.
Our focus is on small business for a couple of reasons:
Bigger businesses can just buy in the experience and resources that they need but they often lack passion for the thing that they do. But we believe that the best business should win, not the biggest. To do this, we aim to equip small business owners with the resources, tools and knowledge that they need to level the playing field.
Small business starts with a spark and then grows into something that will support your lifestyle or build into something even larger than that. So no matter whether you are a seasoned entrepreneur or have never even started a business before, we help you build a roadmap for your future business. We deliver on this through the Lab, the Plan, the Review, the Offer and the Hub.
We offer a five staged approach to bring your idea to (business) life. It all starts with Why and then moves to Idea evaluation and then experimentation in the Lab with your business model before building your MVP and heading for Launch.
What you learn over these five stages is the culmination of our collective knowledge built by working in and for small business. This means you can get started in days …. not weeks and months.
We know that traditionally writing a business plan is seen as boring and not a real worthwhile task especially where you might not see the direct benefit in doing it. Sixty:forty aims to change this.
We help you start really seeing the business future you want to create by asking you questions. Lots of questions. But don’t let this scare you away. You can work through these questions at your convenience and your Dashboard will show you your progress. This means you don’t have to sit down for a day to write a Business Plan all in one go, you can pop in and out as you have a spare 5 minutes. Once you have answered all of the questions, you can produce the type of plan that you need – whether it be a Management Plan, a Lean Plan or a Finance Plan.
If you know there are a few things falling through the gaps in your business, but not quite sure where they are … or if you just don’t know where to start making some immediate fixes – then The Review is for you!
You can do the Review as a standalone, or if you have prepared The Plan, we build off those responses and ask you a number of additional questions. We then analyse your responses and identify the key gaps in your business which means you can put focus on these areas letting you down and fix them fast.
Don’t have the time or not sure where to start – don’t worry. We can then match you with Providers or Playbooks so that you can tackle the list, step by step.
Want to start getting things done and pulling together the people and resources that you need? Then this is the place for you. The Opportunity is made up of three parts – Pitch, Deal and Agreement.
You start with a Pitch. The Pitch isn’t only about new businesses either. It is for anyone with an idea. You build your Pitch based on the type of investment you are looking for. This is not limited to only those people ready to invest in the equity of your business – you can find a technical Co-Founder or Mentor and even look for other businesses that you can work with to;
If your looking for something a little more tailored, you can put your Project out to Quote. Select Service Providers can then review your Project and Scope and then provide you with a price.
The Deal is the second part of the Opportunity. This is where you get to negotiate the terms, milestones and targets.
The last part of the Opportunity is in The Agreement. Building off your Deal you can produce a non-binding Letter of Intent which can be taken to a legal firm for drafting, or you can foward the draft document to your selected firm … all from within our Platform.
