Our Goal

To help 10,000 small business owners double their net profit and decrease their time working in the business by the 31 December 2022.

Our Values

At sixty:forty we believe strongly in our business and the positive impact it can have on people’s lives. We operate by these seven core values that represent how we want to do business from a macro perspective.

Think like an Entrepreneur

Thinking like an entrepreneur means being ready to take the on the world, to rise to the challenge and find better ways to do things. It means, to take a calculated risk while being positive and optimistic.. It is about relentless optimism towards a belief that life is meant to be better.

It is about demonstrating confidence and determination. It is being passionate, driven and dedicated to achieving the end goal.

It is being open to learning, to taking on feedback and to testing all ideas, while being adaptable.

Routine is boring, but sometimes an essential part of success. It’s about knowing the difference between when routine is needed and when you can be flexible. It is about doing things differently and continuing to innovate to create a better future.

It’s about being ambitious enough to find a better way to have the courage to be the spark of change.

Create Happiness & Community

Community driven means to work to develop and support strong families and communities as a focus for genuine, sustainable and long term prosperity whereby it enables the small business owner to both provide for themselves and help others. Small is the new big and small business is the way to big gains in life. Everywhere is local and the real world impact of having a close knit community is a key to growth.

Its about bringing people together to use small business to create a better future.

You know, ultimately, you’re doing all this stuff, so that you can have that feeling of happiness.

We are proud to be problem solvers. We like the people we work with – coworkers, team members and clients– and genuinely enjoy helping one another succeed.

We’re not just here to take a journey, we’re here to share one with each other because the impact we have is always greater when we work together. This is because 1 + 1 > 2.

As Tony Hsieh said, happiness is actually really just about four things and that’s it. It’s about perceived control, perceived progress, connectedness in vision and meaning  – with meaning being part of something bigger than yourself.

At sixty:forty we hope to help you discover your true vision and passion while giving you the tools and techniques to give you continued growth and process and control towards getting there.

Because when you are happy you will seek out opportunities … within the community.

Deliver Meaningful Impact

Building on the core value of creating happiness and community our next core value is to deliver meaningful impact.

Part of being happy is about seeking a higher purpose and being part of something bigger than yourself – where that something is what you really believe in. And it’s this type of happiness that provides the most long lasting outcome.

Our goal is to help business owners and the people that support them, for team members and for the wider community.

A rising tide lifts all boats and we don’t care how high the ceiling goes but the baseline has to come up. And you can only help people once you have set a solid foundation for yourself.

This then works so that we all can deliver meaningful impact through positive connections.

Keeping Things Real

We are genuine in what we do and how we do it but we aren’t perfect and we will screw up but we will be transparent and honest in everything we do.  We believe in constant and never ending learning and application of the lessons learned.

We’re honest, transparent and committed to doing what’s best for our customers and our company. We openly collaborate in pursuit of the truth. We have no tolerance for politics, hidden agendas or passive-aggressive behaviour.

We have integrity and will always try to do what we say. We aim to build open and honest relationships and encourage you to contribute your thoughts with us.

Just as we aim to keep things real with you, we ask the same from you.  As humans, we are all equipped with individual strengths and have our own unique passions. We encourage being the real you, the genuine you. This allows for honest conversation, feedback, growth and progress.

Enjoy what you do

Work and life are intertwined, they can’t be separated. Small Business is a lifestyle. It’s how you do life. Everything is all linked. Life is what you make it and you control your own destiny. Bring back the fun and live life to the fullest.  You aren’t defined by what you do.

Running a small business is a marathon, not a sprint. Therefore you need to enjoy what you are doing. Work smart, take care of your team, and have fun in order to ensure the sustainability and success of your small business.

Success on your Terms

Now, success means different things to different people, so when we talk of this, we mean what success means to YOU. And to know that …. you have to know your why! It’s why we chose the word prosperous for our mission, prosperous is more than money. It is life.

To chase your vision of success will mean that you’ll move out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself to go in that direction.

Success is all about what you choose to do and the actions you take today. Because these are the things that build the foundation of your future.. The actions you take demonstrate your willingness to chase your dreams because ultimately you will only do the things that are most important to you.

So define what success means to you … otherwise how will you know when you get there?

Do the Right Thing / Own Up

Being responsible is about being in charge and taking ownership of the things that happen, both the good and the bad. It is about being accountable to the end goal and choosing to make it happen. This is leadership.

Leadership requires ownership and that extends to ownership over everything, even when the matter seems outside of your direct control. It means stepping up and taking responsibility for your actions and the actions of those that you lead. It means continually working towards constant improvement. When your team wins, everyone wins.

Your actions are yours alone, and part of becoming your best and achieving peak performance is to accept responsibility for your actions and to become accountable for your own life.

This isn’t all about just you either. It’s about doing the right thing even if it’s the hardest thing to do.
